Deaf cats make wonderful alarm clocks

I'm currently at my parents house for a few days, and it seems my kitty has gone deaf - hardly surprising, seeing as she's 17 years old. I just wish she didn't feel the need to start yowling at 6am, since her volume control seems to have gone a bit wonky - her settings seems to be stuck at "loud" and "even louder"... *sigh*

Also, I've come to the conclusion I have too many books. I was somewhat aware of this already, but it didn't really hit home until after I threw out 250 books and still have an absolutely massive pile to cart back to Cardiff. I just hope I can fit them all in the car - and then manage to fit them all on the bookshelves afterward. Here's hoping!

You threw them out? Sacrilegious! Hahaha. How much of it was fantasy/science fiction? :D

Less "threw" and more "stacked carefully in boxes and left for Mum to freecycle / give to charity shop"

...and most of it was sf.

Poor kitty. Poor ears.

Poor books, even. Two hundred and fifty? Cripes. I didn't think you were capable of that! :p

Neither did I, but I got myself into a sufficiently ruthless mood and then set myself a target ;)

Even earlier

This morning it was 4.30 when she commenced yowling. I got up and fed her, went back to bed, but a short while later she started again - and got banished to the utility room. Peace!

Am having a Freecycle rummage at home today to shift some of the books!
