A quick request.

Please would people have a look here and sign the petition if you feel it appropriate:

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/decriminalisation-of-dispensing-errors.html

This is, as a pharmacist, something that strikes horribly close to home for me. All dispensing errors are legally a crime and could be prosecuted, regardless of whether anyone comes to harm. In the case that triggered this petition, a pharmacist received a three month suspended prison sentence for a dispensing error that was ruled to have no link to the patient's death.

Your time and attention is very much appreciated :-)

Thanks for this! I do think Britain's 'blame culture' is getting way out of hand. Plus hopefully you'd be able to breathe more easily at work!

Done. Is there another petition to suggest spanking as an alternative punishment? ;)

You could probably get a whole lot of exposure for this if you forward it to PZ Myers (of Pharyngula (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/) fame). He's the author of one of the most popular scienceblogs at Seed, and if he decides to post about this it could easily get a couple thousand signatures. (Though I'm not certain how much a sig from my side of the pond would actually help at all. Pharyngula is read world-wide though at least.)
